ECM--Email Countermeasures

Medium to High Threat Environment

This form takes your e-mail address No, I don't ever see your e-mail if you submit this form--just take a look at the source code of this page. and converts it into the ISO-Latin-1 code for each character. It then makes a big array of those codes. Your email will appear as 60, 97, 32, 104, 114, 101, 102, 61, 34, 109, 97, 105, 108, 116, 111, 58, 116, 105, 109, 109, 121, 119, 64, 97, 108, 111, 104, 97, 46, 110, 101, 116, 34, 62, 116, 105, 109, 109, 121, 119, 64, 97, 108, 111, 104, 97, 46, 110, 101, 116, 60, 47, 97, 62 to an email harvesting progam

This page will output the Javascript containing those codes which you will need to copy and put in your page where you want your address to appear.

Someone using a Javascript enabled browser will see your address and be able to mail you via a standard mailto: link, however any e-mail harvesting agents will merely see an array of numbers, not even an @ sign will be visible. If you want someone without a Javascript enabled browser to email you, then you will have to either include your email, suitably camoflauged, in the noscipt tag or obfuscate it using a simpler method.

As for the code it is freeware, use it as you like. If you like let me know. If you hate let me why. Does it really reduce the amount of spam you get. Also feel free to tinker with it, because if everyone started using identical code it wouldn't take the email harvester too long to figure out where all the email address are hiding.

I'm working on a new and improved version right now as well. It rotates your address a random number of places. I still need to add routines to verify inputs and other bells and whistles. So you better verify it does produce what you want before you post it.

The true SPAMŽ

SPAMŽNote that SPAMŽ (all capital letters) refers to SPAMŽ brand luncheon meat. While, "spam" (all lower case letters) refers to Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE). is a registered trademark of Hormel Foods for their fine luncheon meat.

The best way to have SPAMŽ is in SPAMŽ Musubi. I first tried and enjoyed SPAMŽ Musubi while I was living in Hawaii. If you have never had SPAMŽ Musubi then your really should give it a try it is ono.
